At Hermes Consulting, we are passionate about guiding organisations towards sustainable transformations that focus on the future. Our sustainable DNA is able to translate values of responsibility into tangible successes that spark virtuous changes, which lead to long-lasting benefits for all stakeholders. We believe that organisational systems should be designed with people at the centre, empowering them to be the active protagonists of their future.
We understand that sustainability is more than just achieving business objectives. It’s about creating a brighter tomorrow for all. To us, wellbeing is a fundamental part of sustainability. It means unlocking the full potential of individuals by nurturing their emotional competence and providing them with a sense of belonging to something greater.
A happy and fulfilled team is key to innovation and success, as it enables people to work to their full potential and make the best out of any situation.
We are committed to creating a framework enabling every individual to be an active subject able to make informed and conscious choices.
In the fast-paced world we live in, each and every employee is faced with numerous challenges on a daily basis. It is crucial for us to unlock their full potential, so that they can tackle these challenges with responsibility and commitment. We strongly believe in the power of positive emotions which can empower us to broaden our horizons, foster curiosity, and encourage us to take bold and exploratory steps forward. They also help us develop an infinite range of possible behaviours and expand our skillset.
Well-being is not simply an added value in our life, but a vital resource for personal growth and the development of high-level skills and expertise. That’s why we perceive people’s well-being as a valuable asset for the companies that must be nurtured and invested in.
At Hermes Consulting, our focus lies in promoting positive attitudes, values, and perceptions within the interactions between individuals and their professional journeys. We believe in fostering motivation and satisfaction, commitment and engagement, and a sense of belonging among employees towards their company.
Our aim is to get to know the virtues and unique capabilities of each person, so as to help them thrive in their daily work. To achieve this goal, we offer integrated corporate welfare programmes that prioritise the overall well-being of the individual. Our Total Reward strategies take a systemic approach to welfare and are designed to satisfy the needs of all those associated with the company. We place a strong emphasis on work-life balance, the employees’ family needs and on a work environment that we want to be as healthy as possible.
To effectively deliver our Welfare services to companies and individuals, we rely on three specialised platforms where employees can seamlessly access their Welfare credits:
Edenred (https://www.edenred.it/), Jointly (https://www.jointly.pro/) and Eudaimon (https://eudaimon.it/it/).
Nurturing people’s well-being in the workplace is at the heart of our mission. This requires a thorough understanding of the complex environment that employees work in. To achieve this goal, we closely observe the company context and processes to ensure that we provide comprehensive solutions.
Our approach to fuelling well-being entails building strong internal relationships, fostering teamwork towards a common goal, and creating a physical environment that promotes positivity and good health, thereby allowing employees to fully enjoy their time at work. This is why our offices are designed to reflect our values, mission, and vision. Our vibrant and dynamic workspaces energise and empower our team, allowing us to provide the best service to our clients.
In collaboration with Aetere’s (http://aeteres.com/), we promote the bioenergy compatibility in workspaces, which not only enhances the quality of work environments but also generates significant economic benefits, creating a virtuous cycle of improved health and increased productivity for employees.
WORLD NEWS:
A study published by the Harvard Business Review shows that a happy and engaged team increases its company’s sales by an average of 37%, with productivity growing by 31%, and staff retention by 40%. The Broaden-and-Build theory (Fredrickson, 1998) puts forward the idea that positive emotions broaden people’s awareness and focus. Additionally, they should have the ability to guide them towards exploring new ideas and opportunities, fostering the emergence of innovative thinking and inspiring them to take new actions.
It has been proven that when people feel they can face everyday events and are in a comfort zone that positively meets daily challenges, their abilities expand and they draw on a much broader range of behaviours.
Moreover, neuroscience results show us that happiness facilitates the production of hormones, such as dopamine and serotonin, which strengthen and support our immune system.
On the other hand, if people working in a company are unhappy and stressed, their commitment, as well as their creative abilities, such as critical thinking, can drastically decrease.
It is no coincidence that the World Health Organization (WHO) recently issued a warning about the strong emotional burn out of an increasing number of workers.
According to a research carried out by Gallup, this is a condition that has been experienced by at least 28% of people. This discomfort then also directly translates into a loss of profitability for companies.
Gallup has also analysed its economic consequences. Globally, the estimated revenue loss amounts to around $322 billion, with every 10,000 distressed workers resulting in a loss of $20 million in business.
In today’s world, investing in the positive resources of individuals is crucial. While the World Happiness Report has been the go-to tool for monitoring well-being, Italy has taken it a step further with the creation of a permanent observatory. The Observatory for Well-being and Happiness aims to understand the current state of happiness and well-being in the country, allowing businesses to tailor their strategies and improve the overall quality of life for individuals.
The report published in March 2021 surveyed 1,300 workers of different ages and generations, revealing a lack of value alignment and a low orientation towards the future in many workplaces.
A valuable insight from our observation is that, for employees to achieve happiness, a mere paycheck at the end of the month is not enough. They want to make a meaningful contribution to the organization and unleash their full potential in a constructive manner. This means that companies need to prioritise creating a work environment where employees can thrive and make a positive impact.
